How Do I Join?
In order to become a member of the Orthodox Church, your first step is to meet with the parish priest to state your intent. The next step is for you to become a catechumen. A catechumen is a person who is being taught the Faith. during this period, the catechumen will meet with the priest frequently to receive instruction. In the ancient church, the time frame for the catechetical instruction would usually be around three years long. This is because new members had to start from scratch. In today's culture, most are familiar with Christianity and many new members come from other Christian denominations. Therefore the catechetical instruction period might vary in length. But first thing is first. COME AND SEE!
