If someone gets married outside the Orthodox Faith, what do they have to do to remain a member in good standing?

If an Orthodox Christian marries someone of another Christian denomination (Roman Catholic, Protestant, Methodist, Lutheran, etc.) and chooses to do so in their spouse’s church, the Orthodox Church requires that this marriage also be “blessed” by us through the sacrament of crowning. In some instances this has been accomplished upon the same day (i.e. going from one church to another prior to the reception) or having the service done a week or so later. Either way, this service needs to be performed for the Orthodox spouse to remain in good standing with their Faith and to receive Holy Communion.
