The Gospel of St. John tells of how Joseph of Arimathea took Christ’s Body down from the cross, anointed it, and buried it in a new tomb. Where exactly is the city of Arimathea located?

Interestingly, nobody knows for certain. There is no evidence of a city, town, village, or region bearing this name. However, some biblical scholars believe Arimathea to be a Greek transliteration of the Hebrew ha-Ramathhaim (Ramatha or Romah) which was a place 4-5 miles north-west of Jerusalem.
