Although this 151st or so called last psalm is attributed to David, it has never been considered part of the body of the Psalms themselves. Not knowing the exact reason why, my best guess would be that it appears too much like a poem about David himself – an autobiographical overview of his life, if you will. Therefore it stands in stark contrast to the other psalms which serve to glorify God, offer thanksgiving, or entreat His mercy.
