Nothing is more frigid than a Christian who is indifferent to the salvation of others.

Should you see your neighbor commit a sin, see that you think not only of his sin, but that you also think of what he does, and has done well, and doing this you will oftentimes find that he is better than you are; when you consider all he has done, and not a part. Why do we live in pleasure in the presence of our brothers' affliction?

If you see someone attacked by passions, hate not the brother but the passions attacking him.

Our life and our death is with our neighbor. If we gain our brother, we have gained God, but if we scandalize our brother, we have sinned against Christ.

God wanted to unite people among themselves. So he made things in such a way that the good of one is inseparably bound to being useful to others.
