BEAUTIFYING OUR HOUSE OF WORSHIP
OUR CHURCH IS CONSECRATED
The new millennium brought extraordinary changes with it. John D. Ressetar, who had served as music director for more than 40 years until his retirement in June 2001, fell asleep in the Lord at home on February 15, 2002. Ted Geletka was hired to direct our choir in 2002.
Later that year, the church and the hall both experienced major renovations as we celebrated 25 years in Broadview Heights. In 2002, the Board of Trustees formed a Renovation Committee. It was decided to not simply renovate the entire church, but to beautify it as well: to make it a shining example of the traditional Orthodox sanctuary design by having iconography placed throughout the temple’s interior. Iconographer Niculai Enachi and woodcarver Constantin Tingas were selected by the Renovation Committee. The newly restored temple was consecrated on October 15, 2005 by His Beatitude Metropolitan Herman and His Eminence Archbishop Job.
