October brings several opportunities for us to live out our stewardship and commitment to the ministry of Archangel Michael.
Our Stewardship Campaign
October also marks the launch of our annual stewardship campaign. Your stewardship this year has already helped us significantly close the gap in our budget deficit. But stewardship is about so much more than meeting a financial goal. It is about sharing the gifts God has entrusted to each of us in service to His Church.
Your stewardship makes it possible for us to make prosphora, teach our Sunday School classes, participate in the Divine Liturgy, serve on our Parish Council and ministries, welcome others into our parish, and reach out to our community. Each of these acts of service strengthens the life and ministry of our parish.
As we enter this season of commitment, we ask you to prayerfully consider how you will share your time, talents, and financial gifts with the Church in the coming year. Together, our stewardship makes it possible for Archangel Michael to continue growing and serving Christ.
Pokot, Kenya Charity Project
Our Charity Raffle will launch shortly, with a goal of raising $18,000. This year, our project is centered on Pokot, Kenya, and Douglas Lopenyo, who recently graduated from the Orthodox Seminary in Nairobi, Kenya.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our parish and this new mission parish in Pokot to become truly joined together in Christ and to build a lasting relationship. As we walk alongside one another, share our gifts, and support the work of the Church, we can create a partnership that strengthens and blesses both communities while together doing the work of Christ.
You can support this effort by making a donation to Archangel Michael and earmarking your gift for Pokot, Kenya, or by participating in our Charity Raffle when it launches.
Baba’s Kitchen – November 14
Preparations are also underway for Baba’s Kitchen on Saturday, November 14, with peroghi making, stuffed cabbage rolling, and kolacky and pastry baking already getting started.
There are many ways to help! Whether you donate supplies, lend a hand preparing food, or volunteer to serve on the day of the event, your participation is greatly appreciated. Every contribution of time, talent, and resources helps make this important fundraising effort a success.
This year, proceeds from Baba’s Kitchen will support our Charities, including St. Tikhon’s Seminary, St. Herman’s Seminary, FOCUS Cleveland – St. Herman House, International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), ZOE House Cleveland, and St. Vladimir’s Camp.
Thank you for the many ways you continue to share your gifts with our parish and with others. Through our collective stewardship, service, and generosity, we are able to extend the love of Christ both within our parish and beyond our walls.
In Christ
Darlene
