Our parish community is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Juliann Gaydos, who has been ranked the #1 goalkeeper in the state of Ohio for the 2028 age group and #8 overall in Ohio among all field players and goalkeepers in her class.
These prestigious rankings were awarded by PrepSoccer, a nationally recognized scouting and recruiting platform known for its accurate player evaluations, rankings, and collegiate recruiting coverage. PrepSoccer’s team of experienced analysts and scouts evaluates athletes across the state and country, identifying the top emerging talent in youth soccer.
Juliann was personally evaluated by Kiyoshi Fish, a scout and writer for PrepSoccer, following her standout performance at the highly competitive ECNL Phoenix Showcase. The ECNL Phoenix Showcase brings together thousands of elite teams from across the nation, each competing in three high-intensity games over a single weekend. The event is heavily attended by collegiate scouts and serves as a major stage for statewide and national recognition.
Reflecting on the accomplishment, Juliann shared:
“I have received a ranking as the #1 goalkeeper for the 2028 age group in Ohio. Also, I have been ranked #8 overall in Ohio among all field players and goalkeepers in the 2028 age group. I have been put at this ranking through a popular and accurate soccer website called PrepSoccer.
To earn this rank, I have shown countless hours of hard work and dedication through practices, film, and weightlifting, which has reflected my talent on the field.”
As a high-level goalkeeper, Juliann plays with intensity. She showed a command of the back line with strong communication and was very vocal, organized, and engaged throughout the whole matchup. She showed her ability to direct defenders and kept her team structured when under pressure. On the technical side, she showed solid shot-stopping and was very quick to react, making clean saves. She shows a high IQ for soccer, and her ability to communicate makes her very reliable; she has next-level potential.
She currently plays for Internationals Soccer Club, a premier youth soccer club that has been conference champions for four consecutive years and is currently in first place in the Ohio Valley Conference. Competing at such a high level week after week has undoubtedly contributed to her growth and development as an elite goalkeeper.
