We had wonderful attendance at our annual meeting. Thank you for your participation and commitment to our ministry! I am grateful to Bob Kovalak and Jeff Weaver for their time and tenure on our Board of Trustees and welcome our new members: Bob Reilly, Lisa Lyon and Nick Rolin and our returning Board members: Fran Foster, Cheryl Andrews, and Sharon Glagola and auditors: Russ Alford and Michael Gaydos. With this election I will enter my final two-year term as your President.
I want to recognize and thank Veronica and Nick Kormos for their leadership on the state of our finances. Giving is not simply a financial act but a spiritual offering of gratitude and trust in God. Everything we have is ultimately a gift from Him, and when we give — whether of our treasure, our time, or our talents — we return a portion with thanksgiving. True stewardship flows from a generous heart shaped by prayer and humility, not obligation or pressure. When we give faithfully, we participate in God’s work beyond what our eyes can perceive — supporting the Church, aiding the unseen struggles of others, and sowing seeds of mercy and grace that may bear fruit in ways we cannot imagine.
As a member of this parish family, I see Great Lent as a journey we take together, not just as individuals. Each of us enters this season carrying our own struggles, hopes, and prayers, yet we walk side by side through fasting, forgiveness, and worship. The beauty of our Orthodox faith is that Lent is not about who does it “best,” but about encouraging one another to turn our hearts back to God. When we gather for the Lenten services, ask forgiveness, and reach out in love, we strengthen each other. May this holy season draw all of us closer to Christ and to one another, so that when we arrive at Pascha, we do so as a parish renewed in faith, unity, and joy.
In Christ,
Darlene
