Our Church was recently notified regarding the sad news of the passing of Jane Haney, who fell asleep in the Lord on February 2, 2025.
Jane Marie Haney (nee Geletka), age 88 of Mentor, Ohio, Jane was the last surviving, and youngest, of five children of Matthew and Mary Nashtock Geletka (both deceased).
Born on June 3, 1936 in Sharon, PA, Jane was raised in Cleveland and was the first in her family to graduate from college. After graduation, she became a teacher for the Euclid school district before becoming a wife and mother of three sons, Jack (deceased), Jeffrey (deceased), and David.
Jane is survived by her son, David, two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Alyssa, and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are six nieces and a nephew who will miss their Auntie greatly.Jane was a vibrant, intelligent, and loving person, always with a warm smile and enthusiastic greeting. She loved children and they loved her. She will be missed by all who were enriched by knowing her.
A memorial family gathering was held on June 30, 2025.
